Based on the Ainsworth Compendium of Physical Activities from 2000, walking 3.0 mph at a moderate pace on a firm surface, results in 3.3 METs for an adult. Ridley and Olds (2008) state that the Ainsworth Compendium estimates may be used as approximates for non-adult populations.
* The Average Caloric Impact (ACI) for this intervention is modeled based on published estimates of METs expended during a walk from Ainsworth et al. (2000).
